Intro to Fly-Fishing

July 12 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Add to Suitcase

Fly fishing is a great way to get closer to nature while catching fish. Don’t be turned off by
complexity of the sport. Join Park staff as we dive into the basics of flyfishing such as to set up a
fly-fishing rig, cast a fly rod, tie knots, pointers on what flies to use, and what’s going on under
the water. After the lesson, you’ll have a chance to use your new skills by fishing in Lake Arthur.
During the program, a fishing license is not required, and all equipment is provided by the park
but feel free to bring your own. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring a drink and
snacks if desired, and it is encouraged to bring a form of eye protection, sunglasses work great.
Program is for anyone 12 and up, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration
is required. Registration is on DCNR Calendar of Events https://events.dcnr.pa.gov/event/intro-
