Opening in the Hoyt Galleries on January 31 – March 16, Andrew Chalfen’s paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces focus on patterns that vibrate, bloom, cluster, and break apart, often in dazzling color. At times they are constructivist, abstract geometric, cartographic, op art, and psychedelic. His work is obsessively detailed, wryly playful, and musical – full of catchy riffs, hooks, and colliding poetic forms.
Admission to the Galleries is free. Hoyt Hours: Tuesdays – Thursdays, 11 am – 8 pm, Fridays – Saturdays, 11 am – 4 pm.
