April 5 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. – “Preparing Your Environment: How Space Can Invite, Engage, and Bring Joy”
Katanya Cathcart, Master Organizer, Experience Architect, Aesthetic Expert, Education Enthusiast
“The first aim of the prepared environment is, as far as it is possible, to render the growing child independent of the adult.” – Dr. Maria Montessori
The “prepared environment” is a Montessori’s concept that understands our living and learning spaces can be designed to facilitate maximum independent exploration by the child. In the calm, ordered space of a thoughtfully prepared environment, children work on activities of their own choice at their own pace. They experience a blend of freedom and self-discipline in a place especially designed to meet their developmental needs. During our time together, we will be exploring how simple changes to your home environment can help your child flourish.
