Morning, Noon & Night Joe

A normal morning consists of walking downstairs bleary eyed, barely conscious and not quite hearing what my family is saying. I just give them the “give me a minute look” and make my way over to one of our coffee makers- yes, “one of”, of which means either the  French press, Nespresso, percolator, automatic.

Welcome to our household. We are coffee addicts.

Is it a little excessive to have that many coffee makers? You bet.

Would we consider buying another type of coffee maker? You bet, again.

Do we like to frequent local coffee shops? You bet, again, again.

More than being able to make our own cup, we love to explore the local coffee shops and hang out for some good conversion and even better coffee. And let me tell you, the convenience of good coffee in Lawrence County is tops!

The Confluence

Located Downtown New Castle, the Confluence is more than just a coffee shop. Delicious soups, salads and sandwiches can be enjoyed any day. Stop down for live music every Thursday or enjoy the rotating art exhibits, kids’ corner and many other events, which add to the quality of our lives.

Two Rivers Artisan Coffee Works

Situated right across from the Historic Warner Cascade Theatre Museum is Two Rivers. Step into the funky side of things with their off the wall coffee blends,  French press style coffee, rotating art exhibits, open mic nights and much more! Looking for a different experience? Remember to try sushi rolls, ramen or sandwich from The Dirty Pickle!

The National Grind Coffee & Tea Shop

Named after the National Tube Mill which was once located in Ellwood City, National Grind Coffee Shop is the perfect neighborhood coffee house. Prefer coffee a la mode? Walk across the street to Sweet Caroline’s to add a dollop of love to your cup.

The Mohawk House (MoCo)

Mohawk Coffee House seeks to create a positive and safe environment, to provide quality products and service as well as a space for fellowship and outreach and to build the Mohawk community. They have created a cafe with comfortable seating, free WiFi, local art, music, and a friendly staff.   They strive to source their products locally and provide some of the best coffee, specialty drinks, pastries and snacks available.  They perfected the desire  to offer high quality, yet affordable prices so everyone in the neighborhood can enjoy a cup of coffee!

Mugsies Coffee House

Keeping it local – Mugsies roast & brew their own 5 coffee blends daily! Their love for New Wilmington keeps them sourcing as many fresh ingredients as possible from the local community! Not only do they serve a great cup of coffee, but they spin up divine old school milkshakes. Be sure to try one!

Remember, good ideas start with a great cup of coffee!
